The new zero-bail policy takes effect in L.A. County on Saturday, but the controversial law is causing a stir amongst residents and law enforcement officials alike. The policy would allow some criminal suspects with non-violent or non-serious crimes to be cited and released when they would have previously been held on bond. A decision was made in July by the Los Angeles County Superior Court to institute the system, but less than 24 hours after the policy was made law, there was already controversy. County Superior Court on behalf of a dozen cities claim that the new policy is a threat to public safety. The 12 communities listed in the suit are: Arcadia Artesia Covina Downey Glendora Industry Lakewood La Verne Palmdale Santa Fe Springs Whittier Officials in those communities are looking to delay the program’s implemen...Jrue Holiday being traded to Boston, AP source says, as Portland continues making moves

Jrue Holiday is being traded to the Boston Celtics, a person with knowledge of the agreement said Sunday, a move that comes just four days after being sent to the Portland Trail Blazers in the deal that sent Damian Lillard to the Milwaukee Bucks.Holiday goes to the Celtics in exchange for Malcolm Brogdon, Robert Williams and two future first-round draft picks, said the person, who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the trade has yet to be approved by the league.ESPN first reported the agreement.Flipping Holiday for Brogdon, Williams and more draft capital means the Trail Blazers have turned Lillard into four players (with Deandre Ayton and Toumani Camara also included as part of Wednesday’s deal), three first-round picks and two pick swaps. That’s a strong haul for Lillard, the seven-time All-Star who was officially welcomed to Milwaukee by his new team on Saturday.___AP NBA: https://apnews.com/hub/NBASource¿Bad Bunny y Kendall Jenner oficializan su relación en anuncio de Gucci?

GUIDONIA MONTECELIO, Italy (AP) — Europe won back the the Ryder Cup on Sunday, just like it always does before its raucous crowd, with Rory McIlroy leading the way and Tommy Fleetwood delivering the decisive point to extend its dominance over the Americans on home soil. The outcome was never seriously in doubt at Marco Simone. Europe started the final day with a five-point lead. McIlroy, Jon Rahm, Viktor Hovland and Tyrrell Hatton put the Europeans on the verge of the cup, forcing the Americans to win the remaining five matches on the course.Just like everything else this week, there was little chance of that.McIlroy was still fired up over what he perceived to be bad behavior by Patrick Cantlay’s caddie on the 18th green the previous evening. He won his match to cap a 4-1 week and was Europe’s top scorer for the first time in the Ryder Cup.And then Fleetwood hit a signature shot on the signature hole, a drive to 25 feet on the reachable 16th. What to stream this week: Drake, ‘Fair Play,’ Assassin’s Creed Mirage and William Friedkin last film

LE TOUQUET, France (AP) — England will give free-again flanker Tom Curry a chance to start the Rugby World Cup anew against Samoa next weekend.Curry has completed a two-game suspension and tackle school.“Tough for him (with the ban) but he has reacted really well and got stuck into his training and looked really good,” England attack coach Richard Wigglesworth said on Sunday.“I don’t think he will hold much back. He is all action, he is as fit as a fiddle, and that is the way he plays. He has multiple actions in-game where he affects the game. I think we will get the best of Tom Curry in terms of him getting straight into it from the start so absolutely delighted to have him back.”Captain Owen Farrell, who had to miss England’s first two matches because of his own suspension, said of Curry, “I’m sure he can’t wait to show what he can do.“He is in a good place I think. I don’t think there’s too much revving up Tom can do anyway — he’s p...Huge but glum: Poland’s opposition puts a million people on the streets

WARSAW — Poland’s opposition held an enormous rally in Warsaw and other cities on Sunday — claiming more than a million people took part — but the mood two weeks ahead of the election is grim rather than triumphant. That’s because the ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party has been holding on to a significant lead in the polls. POLITICO’s Poll of Polls has PiS at 38 percent while Civic Coalition, the main opposition grouping, is at 30 percent. The Million Hearts march called by Donald Tusk, a former prime minister who heads the Civic Coalition, was supposed to lift the spirits of opposition supporters and show them that PiS — in power since 2015 — can be beaten.“The impossible has become possible, when I see this sea of hearts, when I see these hundreds of thousands of smiling faces, I feel that this turning point in the history of our homeland is approaching,” Tusk told the crowd in Warsaw. But the mood among the thousands of people streaming through the hear...Latest news
