FARGO, N.D. — A man opened fire on police officers — hitting more than one — on a busy street in Fargo, North Dakota, Friday afternoon before other officers shot him, multiple witnesses said.Police have not confirmed if anyone, including police officers, was shot in what they called a “critical incident” that happened at before 3 p.m., but a hospital reported receiving patients within hours, and law enforcement agencies across the region posted sympathies for Fargo police on social media.“We sincerely are asking for your patience and our community’s patience and understanding as the Fargo Police Department works through this incident,” Gregg Schildberger, chief communications officer for the city, told reporters at the scene later in the day. He did not say whether any officers had been shot or injured but added: “This is very difficult on all of us. NORTH GREENBUSH, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Troy man was arrested Friday in connection to a stolen vehicle investigation.Around 1:20 p.m., a North Greenbush police officer saw a vehicle that had been reported as stolen parked at 10 West Sand Lake Rd. Police saw Jose Gonzalez, of Troy, leave the house and get into the vehicle. He fled into the house as police approached but was quickly arrested. ST. LOUIS - An accused interstate shooter is free tonight after a judge dismissed her case over repeated delays. Only FOX 2 was in the courtroom for the major development.Bernice Thomas was charged with shooting at someone on Interstate 70 in St. Louis five years ago. During repeated trial delays, police say her son, Deshawn Thomas, was captured on video executing a homeless man. Her son still faces the murder charge, but Bernice Thomas is now free to go, because of a failure to prosecute.The judge dismissed the I-70 shooting case without prejudice, which means it can be refiled, but there’s uncertainty about whether it will be. ST. ANN, Mo. - A local nonprofit is helping women improve their spiritual and mental health. Reprieve Spiritual is hosting an event called "Sis Be Still!" in St. Ann. It's designed to help women deal effectively with life's pressures and connect with other women. Attendees are also working on their spiritual journey. Precious Whitener, an author and inspirational speaker, is leading the event. She says it's important for women to set aside time for themselves.
