ATLANTA — A day after they confirmed that José De León would need season-ending Tommy John surgery, the Twins’ bullpen was dealt another blow. The Twins placed Brock Stewart on the 15-day injured list on Tuesday with elbow soreness, something which will have a major impact on their high-leverage group. Oliver Ortega was recalled from Triple-A to fill his spot on the roster.Twins manager Rocco Baldelli said the initial read from the training staff is that Stewart is dealing with some tendinitis. The Twins sent Stewart back home to have some imaging done to get a clearer picture of what he’s dealing with. But for now, they know they’ll be without Stewart, who had stepped into a very important role, for a couple weeks at minimum.“I feel like there’s a reasonable chance that we’ve kind of headed off this issue and hopefully he won’t be down for too long, which is somewhat good news,” Baldelli said.Stewart, Baldelli said, has been fighting through this for about a week, noticing it ...Wild GM Bill Guerin not afraid to move up in 2023 NHL draft if moment calls for it

Nearly two dozen dogs rescued from China’s meat trade arrived in Southern California Tuesday, their first stop before heading to their forever homes scattered across the United States. Animal lovers, activists and city leaders came together in Inglewood for the grand opening of Rue’s Kennels at Los Angeles International Airport. The shelter, which organizers say is the first of its kind, is a nonprofit animal care facility built to help rescue dogs from around the world. “So, the animals will be examined by me and they will receive another rabies vaccine, even if they came in with paperwork,” veterinarian Karen Dochalligan told KTLA. The latest so-called “freedom flight” carried 16 golden retrievers, two corgis, a poodle and a malamute, all of whom were rescued from the meat trade in China. While the practice of consuming dog meat is unthinkable in North America, the practice is somewhat common in other parts of the world, though that doesn’t necessarily mean it h...Fast-moving brush fire erupts in San Bernardino County
