Metrolink again offering $15 Summer Day Pass

Southern California's commuter rail service is offering a scorching deal to get travelers on the trains this summer.Metrolink, which offers train service between Los Angeles, Riverside, Orange, San Bernardino and Ventura counties, is bringing back its popular $15 Summer Day Pass. The pass allows for unlimited weekday train rides on the day of purchase. The pass is available for purchase from June through August.The Summer Day Pass was first introduced last year and Metrolink said it was a big hit with riders.“Thanks to the positive customer response to the $15 Summer Day Pass last year, we are pleased to offer it again this summer," Metrolink CEO Darren Kettle said. 5 People Injured and 30-Year-Old Suspect Arrested in a Deadly Hit-and-Run IncidentPHOENIX, AZ (May 24, 2023) – Friday night, Benjamin Felipe Liano was arrested after injuring multiple people in hit-and-run incident.The incident happened on May 19th, just before 10:30 p.m., in the area of Indian School Road near Interstate 17.According to reports, Liano was headed eastbound on Indian School Road when he struck the vehicle traveling northbound on Interstate 17. The vehicle was occupied by three children and two adults. Liano then fled the scene without rendering aid to the victims. CONCORD — A 65-year-old man who authorities believe was stabbed to death by his roommate last week was identified by authorities Thursday.David Navarro, of Concord, was bleeding from multiple stab wounds when officers arrived to a home near Port Chicago Highway about 4 p.m. on March 17. He died at the scene.The homicide was the second one this year investigated by Concord police.Officers arrested 38-year-old Nicholas Carson on suspicion of committing the fatal stabbing. Prosecutors have charged him with murder with an enhancement for the use of a deadly weapon, according to court documents.Carson remained in custody at the Martinez Detention Facility in lieu of $1.03 million bail, according to jail records. He is scheduled to be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. on June 12.Authorities have not discussed the case, nor have they disclosed the exact street location where it occurred.
