DJ STEPDAD Figures Things Out: NYC-based producer and DJ STEPDAD started drumming when he was six, due to the fact that he was a Revolutionary War reenactor in Virginia. “It was actually through that strange pastime that my mom met my stepdad, Mike, who DJ STEPDAD was eventually named in honor of,” says the artist born Ted Davis. “In high school, I joined an experimental rock band and played a bunch of shows at DIY spaces in DC. When I was 17, I got super into a lot of the L.A. beat scene stuff that was having a moment in the 2010s. I bought a Native Instruments Maschine because I was obsessed with Flying Lotus/Shlohmo/D33J-type artists, and made chill electronic music in that vein for a couple months before I went off to college in the Los Angeles area. It’s still on SoundCloud, but I won’t tell you where to find it (laughs).”“In college, I went back to playing in scrappy indie rock bands,” he continues. “But in 2018, my friend Alex Conradt...Pac-12 WBB power ratings: UCLA repels USC in front of record crowd in Pauley Pavilion as conference play begins

If the first two showdowns of ranked opponents are any judge, the Pac-12 women’s basketball season will live up to the hype and be a box office draw.UCLA held off USC 71-64 at sold-out Pauley Pavilion — the first in program history — while Colorado defeated Utah 76-65 before CU’s largest regular-season home crowd since 2002.The two games drew a combined 21,042 fans on Dec. 30, a total made even more impressive considering students were on holiday break.“This is not going to be a one-off type of thing,” USC coach Lindsay Gottlieb said of the crowd (13,659) in Pauley, which included some celebrities.“If you’re not on the women’s basketball and women’s sports train, then you’re late. It’s unbelievable to have little girls, little boys, all types of people here to see strong women compete. We don’t shy away from that attention.”Another 10,126 (combined) saw dominant wins last week by Stanford and Oregon State. All in all, the average attendance for four rivalry games wa...All-Bay Area News Group high school football 2023: Utility players

By EDDIE PELLS | Associated PressDENVER — The email, addressed to the 13-year-old swimmer from the U.S. Center for SafeSport, came out of the blue. “Between approximately 2019 and 2022, you allegedly engaged in a pattern of behavior which constitutes Sexual Misconduct,” it read, with both final words capitalized. That was in April 2022. It took three months for the 8th grader to learn what the accusations were: A claim he had slapped another teammate on the butt in a locker room 10 months earlier, in June 2021.More than 20 months later, the case remains open, even after local police in the town 40 miles north of Denver investigated and dismissed it within weeks. Now 16 and a high school sophomore, the teen’s promising swimming career has been plunged into uncertainty by the temporary sanctions imposed by SafeSport — and the hard-to-escape taint of presumed guilt as the case drags on.FILE – U.S. Center for SafeSport CEO Ju’Riese Colón testifies during The Commission on the State of U...Plagiarism charges downed Harvard’s president. NEW YORK (AP) — Stock are slipping again on Wednesday as Wall Street’s slow start to 2024 carries into a second day.The S&P 500 was 0.6% lower in morning trading, though still within 2% of its record set exactly two years ago. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 206 points, or 0.5%, as of 10:30 a.m. Eastern time, and the Nasdaq composite was 0.9% lower. Some of last year’s biggest winners were again giving up some of their gains. Tesla fell 4.4% after soaring nearly 102% last year, for example. It and the other six “Magnificent 7” Big Tech stocks responsible for the majority of Wall Street’s returns last year have regressed some following their tremendous runs. The question hanging over the market is whether all the enthusiasm that helped stocks broadly rally for nine straight weeks into the start of this year was warranted. It was built on expectations that inflation has cooled enough for the Federal Reserve to not only halt its hikes to interest rates but to cut them sever...Las identidades de decenas de personas vinculadas a Jeffrey Epstein sean reveladas pronto.
